Sunday June 23

After a long sleepless night flight we arrived. Straight to the rental car and into the thick of the hustle and bustle of a big city. With a sporadic 2-3 hours of sleep, stiff knee and no England driving experience we set sail. Thanks to my amazing co-pilot/navigator we made it down to our Flat in the small town of Portsmouth.

Walked down the road to a small pub which was featuring inspiring Adele young ladies open mic-night and had some pretty good food.

I told Chelsea I’d be the passenger, but then this happened!

Monday June 24

This time change… After another amazing 2-3 hours of sleep, we left the Flat early for an adventure to Stonehenge and the city of Bath. We optioned out of the 2 hour Stonehenge bus tour in which fanny packs and pacemakers were a requirement and did a quick drive-by of one of the wonders of the world. (We’ll get a closer look in paradise)

The adventure continued to the tourist town of Bath. What an OLD, cool town. The town made up from 1st century Roman rule featured amazing architect and an underground hot spring. When the Romans invaded the Brits (about 40 A.D) they discovered and took over this hot spring. They made it a first century spa resort. Complete with saunas, hot and cool pools and massages they had it made. Of course centered around pagan god worship, who knows what disgusting things happened here. You will see in the picture that Rome had made a statue of all the Roman rulers of that era. The first being Julius Caesar (not pictured). It was nice to mediate on how these must’ve been the same rulers who Jesus and his subsequent disciples had to have “dealings” with.

On the way back to Portsmouth, we found a way to sneak up on, for all you Downton Abbey fans, the Highclere Castle.

Tuesday June 25

Packed up early and headed to the Seven sisters cliffs off the southern coast of England.

After dropping the car off, we jumped on the train to London and walked our butts off before finishing the day with some delightful fish and chips and a beautiful Guinness.

Buckingham Palace
Look at that gorgeous young lady! The beer doesn’t look so bad either.
